2007 Garden Tour Update
16th Annual “Gardens in the Watershed” Garden Tour ReportThe 16th annual Gardens in the Watershed tour was held in the upper watershed this year. Giving rise to the Georges River, the upper watershed is characterized by rolling hills and long vistas. It is a region of farms and hidden gems of gardens. Held this year in the towns of Appleton, Searsmont, and Hope, the tour featured six unique sites. We are grateful to the gardeners and farmers who opened their land and shared their gardens with over 450 tour-goers. The work that goes into preparing to host the tour is truly monumental. Many, many thanks to Karen Aveni and Dick Degorge of Baneberry Farm, Carol Bacon of Stonewall Farm, Lori Cressler of Raven’s Crossing, Drew Darling and his tenants Heather & James Ritter, Holly Miller and her farm manager Tom Griffin of Hope’s Edge Farm and Kathryn Oliver & Todd Riggs. And now see a few photos of our Garden Tour.
