Save the Date! Sunday, July 15, 2012

Every year the Georges River Land Trust hosts the Gardens in the Watershed tour in a different section of the St. George River watershed to give visitors a sense of the diversity 2012 Garden Tourand beauty of the landscapes from Montville to Port Clyde, and to explore regions they may have never visited.

The 2012 Gardens in the Watershed tour features seven outstanding gardens in Spruce Head and Rockland, with some wonderful views of nearby Penobscot Bay. The tour is unique in that it features gardens which, for the most part, have been created and maintained by the garden owners.

In addition to enjoying the gorgeous gardens, the day includes short talks on topics related to gardening, and a chance to meet the garden owners. Another element of the event is a raffle offering gift certificates donated by local nurseries, florists, farms, and artisans. The tour is the primary fundraising event of the Georges River Land Trust. The proceeds from the tour enable the Land Trust to work with landowners to honor their legacy of land, create and maintain the Georges Highland Path, and offer environmental education and outdoor experiences to the public.
