Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in the Georges River Land Trust volunteer programs! Volunteering is a great way to help conserve and protect the Georges River watershed. If you are interested in participating in one of the programs listed below, please give us a call. As a community-based organization, we are grateful for the generous and thoughtful services that our volunteers contribute. Thank you so very much for joining us!

Office Volunteer

If helping out "behind the scenes" interests you, we have lots to do throughout the year in our busy office in downtown Rockland in our busy office in Rockland above the Free Press at Suite 200, 8 North Main Street. While surrounded by maps of the watershed, you can help us keep organized and efficient as we work to protect the stunning region around us. Filing, mailings, photocopying, and much more. Contact Linda Arnold at 594-5166 or by email at info@grlt.org.

Stewards Program

Join our Stewards Program and help monitor one of 25 properties, including farms, scenic sites, historic places, woodlands and shorefront properties, in the Georges River watershed region. You will enjoy providing an important service to a spectacular part of our watershed, as well as getting to know the property's owner. Contact Jay Astle at 594-5166 or by email at jay@grlt.org.

Trail Adopter Program/Work Days

Do you have a favorite section of the Georges Highland Path that you hike frequently? Consider stewarding that region through our Trail Adopters Program. As an adopter, you'll be contributing to the success of the Conservation Trails Program in a healthy and enjoyable way. Or, help us on trail-building work days. Contact Jay Astle at 594-5166 or by email at jay@grlt.org

Education & Outreach Committee

We are always looking for members and friends to help share the watershed story with the public. Help lead Walks & Talks about the natural history of the region or join us as a spokesperson at conservation fairs. Contact Linda Arnold at 594-5166 or by email at info@grlt.org.

Garden Tour Volunteer

Would you like to spend several hours in a beautiful garden during our annual Gardens in the Watershed Tour? The Garden Tour Committee always needs volunteers to take tickets, help with parking, and assist tour-goers and garden owners on the day of the garden tour. Contact Linda Arnold at 594-5166 or by email at info@grlt.org.
